Cute old school diner with good breakfast & lunch fare. French toast & Italian sub with sweet potato fries were delicious. The staff were friendly & clearly knew many of the regulars well. They were kind when my daughter spilled her water. Would definitely return if back in the area.

We ate breakfast and it was actually pretty good, except the biscuits were hard as a rock. It's a shame because the brisket was absolutely delicious. The gravy was also good.

We were driving through Washington NC, we wanted to go to a local diner when we found Sheps grill! This is a perfect stop. Local grill with excellent food and service. I had the Southwestern Eggs Benedict which was wonderful! My wife had a BLT with an egg on top. Exceptional!

Being from NJ mainly (10 years in upstate NY), eating out for breakfast in this area (eastern NC) doesnt have many good options. No Diners. Not many greasy spoons. I asked a nice lady in town where she recommended for breakfast and she said Shep's. Flat top right there behind the counter slinging eggs and all the usual breakfast stuff. The servers were polite and knew their gig. And most importantly, the food was great. Nice thick toast. He deep fries the par cooked (or fully cooked) potatoes and they come out great. I had smoked briscuit and eggs over easy. Peppers and onions in my potatoes, which went on at the end cause of the deep frying. It was all very good. Briscuit could have been a bit more tender but it's a breakfast house, not a BBQ joint. Next time I'll try the corned beef hash. Looking forward to it.

It's an old timers restaurant Good food Friendly staff Quick kitchen Place was packed and looked like everyone just got there, even had a jumbo table with over 15 couples who had just ordered before us and our food came out in a decent amount of time.

If you’re looking for a place that feels like home with food that sticks to your ribs, Shep’s Grill in downtown Washington is the spot. We celebrated my Aunt and Uncle’s anniversary there and couldn’t have picked a better place. I ordered the fried pork chop with eggs and home fries—every bite was pure comfort. Our whole table cleaned our plates, and the food came out hot and fresh in just about ten minutes. For two of us, it was only around $25, which is a steal these days. Friendly, welcoming, and downright delicious—Shep’s is worth making a monthly tradition.
